Below are links to the two main bodies who both offer Public Liability Insurance which is required if you want to take part in our Forum Digs but also to attend other events organised by clubs throughout the UK:

Sad to hear of Colin Hansons death and the end of the FID -those of us with membership will have to renew with the NCMD when our memberships expire.

FID insurance is valid until December this year, but NCMD membership runs April - April, so I may do the same as you guys and join..

btw, I have just seen that there has already been a post on another section of the Forum about this...thats what you get when you've been away and don't read everything first...sorry!

Hi everyone

I'm looking into gaining insurance but being new to the hobby I am unsure of exactly what I need :-/ I have found the site but am a little stumped as to which insurance I need ?

"The NCMD Subscription rate for 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015 is as follows.
Individual Membership (Central Register) £8-00
Central Register Club Membership £8-00
Individual Membership (of a NCMD Region) £6-00 plus Regional Levy)
NCMD Regional Club Membership £6-00 plus Regional Levy"

I would be really grateful if anyone can shed any light on exactly what I need ?

Jase you only need the one insurance policy which you can purchase online at the NCMD website which is ten pounds for the year.

Hi admin

I know I only need the one insurance lol but which one is it ?? I don't do very well with choices (ref second paragraph in my previous comment).

Also may I ask, how often do you organise digs ? I don't think I'm going to get everything sorted in time for the 23rd so guess I need to aim at attending the next one if that's possible ?

Use the link from the first post in this thread which takes you to the NCMD on line insurance application. The forum normally arranges a couple of digs each month.

mine was £8 I rang up john rigby and he said ive done the right one.......I did the drop down box and selected new member.
